One particular sentence from this novel has been haunting me from the day I read the novel...
Sumithra says:Sethu has love towards only one person.That's Sethu...
I had spend quite many sleepless nights thinking about it and it's still happening.As I found me in Sethu...rather,I felt that all Sumithras in my life are telling me like that...
My conscience still mourns & bleeds for Sumithras in my life...
That sentence really haunts everyone I think. Eventhough I read kaalam a few years ago, I still remember that sentence.
"Sethuvinennum Sethuvinodu thannaye sneham thonnetulloo". I think that is the line. Beautifull. Being an Avid MT fan, I have read almost all of his works. Randamoozham to be read.

Kalam.......we can see here a sensitive life and some innocent peoples.......it will reach a nostalgical mood.....sesthu ...a real selfish man......

sethuvine pole we also love ourself more thsan anything...
When people used to talk about M.T. , they used to say 'Nalu kettu'.
But according to me, 'kalam' is the unique one. secondly 'randamoozham'.When we read 'kalam', everybody feels himself as sethu.We can never find a malayalam novel giving these much 'nostalgia'.

i had the same feeling wen i read all his works at my age of 17 to 25. but now........ its same like a group of words resulted from the imagination of a talented writer. "kalam"... it has changed me a lot.

I have read many novals and this noval Kalam was read more than 20 years ago but still it remains the best ever novel I have read. Its truely nostalgic. Am a die hard fan of MTV. Uday Nair
